Seeking greener pastures overseas, 2011 Formula Renault UK runner-up, Dan Wells has gone fastest in the opening Formula Pilota test at the Zhuhai circuit in China yesterday.
Well’s arrived in China late last week in an effort to acquaint himself with the KCMG team and acclimatize to the timezone, despite reporting of “no jetlag”. In monsoon-like conditions and limited track knowledge, Wells was able to top the timesheets for day 1.
Whilst only managing a couple of flying laps in the afternoon, Well’s was confident of progress over the next few days, declaring on Twitter, “Forecast for tomorrow is dry so hopefully we can have a good day”.
The Formula Pilota test continues through Tuesday and Wednesday this week.
